For Nonprofits

Volunteers can cause harm & the organization can be held liable. Screening your representatives will provide your members with peace of mind while also taking steps to protect the valuable reputation you have built within your community.

Volunteers Package

Your volunteers are an extension of your organization’s mission, core values and often entrusted with the safety of its members. Some volunteer organizations and nonprofits operate under the assumption that if a person is willing to volunteer his or her time, he or she is also free of any concerning or dangerous historical behavior. Unfortunately, research shows us that predators often seek out organizations that service individuals in need. One of the best ways to protect those you serve is to ensure you’re working with helpers you can trust.

The package we recommend for potential volunteers include the following:

Social Security Verification

Q

Social Security Verification

A Social Security number verification can reveal information about other names used and addresses where the individual has lived. Knowing all names used in the past and present allows us to find all criminal convictions.

Unlimited County and National Criminal

Q

Unlimited County and National Criminal Check

Criminal screens will review the past seven years of an applicant’s history. County, state and national databases are reviewed, and any incidents in which a person was convicted will be flagged. We offer several different options, but our most popular includes a seven-year unlimited county as well as a national search. We recommend the two in tandem as some crimes are only recorded at the state level, whereas some are considered a national offense.

National Sex Offender Review

Q

National Sex Offender Review

This screening typically covers a multi-state registry, which is important because each state has and manages its own sex offender registry. If you search only the state where your company or the candidate is located, you may not get full details of a candidate’s background.

Motor Vehicle Records

(if the position involves driving)

Q

Motor Vehicle Records

An MVR will typically include relevant facts about a candidate’s driving records, including their license class, endorsements and restrictions, suspensions, and expirations. They also include information on driver infractions such as speeding tickets, moving traffic violations, and some criminal convictions involving driving. While not a check that is relevant to every company or position, this is a wise practice if driving is a regular part of the job.

A la Carte

In addition to being able to verify the validity of certifications, degrees & references, there are as many as 20 additional single standing reports available to our clients. The most common examples include Civil, Criminal, Nationwide Database Searches, Federal Criminal Search, National Sex Offender Search, DOT & MVR, Credit History, etc.

Whether you want to ensure that the applicant meets your basic company criteria for hire or your organization needs to conduct a full scope report, we can build a unique report that meets your needs.
